Our Story

Island Dog is female founded and inspired by two dogs named Turks and Caicos.

We are here to provide a unique shopping experience that no dog parent has ever had. Island Dog aim's to inspire dog parents around Edmonton and the world!

Our store is always dog friendly!

Island Dog originally started as a small line of dog accessories which eventually transformed into a brick and mortar boutique in Edmonton, Alberta. Island Dog was created to focus more on bringing in ethical and sustainable dog products that aren't mass produced.

As you already know, ethical and sustainable pet products  are very important to us at Island Dog. We want to raise the bar on the way we shop for our dogs. From the gear they wear to the food they eat we are passionate about supporting small, environmentally-safe and ethical brands across North America.

Giving back to our community and helping dogs in need is one of the reasons why Island Dog was created. We are very passionate about working with local shelters and organizations and have made it a priority to support dogs in need. A portion of our sales are donated to help local and international rescues.

We solely focus on independent designers and modern pet brands that are thoughtfully curated. We only want to bring you the best on the market and will always be searching for new and innovative brands and products that we know will bring value to your pets life.

At Island Dog we understand that there are many different types of dogs and dog parents. When the dog community comes together the world is a beautiful place. We will always treat our community with kindness and respect.

 Transparency is key to us and we believe ALL animals should be treated with respect. We have made it a priority to only bring in the highest of quality brands. For example, this means that all food brands sold in our store are AWA-Certified or have a sufficient amount of information backing where they source their ingredients from.
